IWCS-Dataset: Simulation Dataset for Cyberattack Analysis in IIoT Wireless Sensor Networks

The IWCS-Dataset is a simulation-based dataset for cyberattack analysis in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Wireless Sensor Networks. The released dataset contains 20,331 curated records and 16 attributes derived from OMNeT++/INET simulations using IEEE 802.15.4, IPv6/RPL, and UDP traffic across four grid-based topology labels (Grid_36, Grid_49, Grid_64, and Grid_100) and five controlled operating conditions: Normal, Flooding, Blackhole, Wormhole, and Manipulated Backoff. This release extends the original dataset record with additional provenance, quality-control, validation, and reproducibility materials. The released V1 CSV remains unchanged. The recovered final-curation procedure was independently reconstructed from a 22,180-row pre-curation table and reproduced the published 20,331-row dataset exactly at parsed value level, with zero different cells after applying the documented quality-control stages. The release also includes a representative raw-level audit based on one run-0 OMNeT++ scalar (.sca) execution for each of the 20 topology-scenario combinations. These representative raw samples support inspection of the simulation outputs and attack behavior, but they are not presented as a complete row-by-row regeneration of the historical dataset because the complete original raw simulation corpus was not retained. Additional materials include structural validation results, descriptive statistics, topology-by-class distributions, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Logistic Regression diagnostic baselines, Leave-One-Topology-Out evaluation, feature-ablation results, numerical-precision cross-checks, source-code audit materials, integrity manifests, and SHA-256 checksums. The accompanying files include the original V1 archive, the complete final-curation reproducibility bundle, the representative 20-file run-0 audit archive, the recovered RPL attack-source audit bundle, and revision metadata. These materials are intended to improve transparency, reproducibility, and reuse of the IWCS-Dataset for IIoT/WSN cybersecurity research.
