Detecting loss of heterozygosity in hybrid fission yeast

Schizosaccharomyces pombe diploids undergo elevated levels of mitotic recombination and loss of heterozygosity, even in the absence of exogenous genome stress. In this study, we utilize a cross of S. pombe/S. pombe var. kambucha to detect loss of heterozygosity by single nucleotide polymorphism analysis in the hybrid diploid.
