The following information is included: year and type of publication, name of the journal, social sectors considered in the study (e.g. general population, government, and health and research sectors); date, location (geographical coordinates if available), and site where the sampling was conducted; land use, pathogen, vectors and hosts or reservoirs identified, sample size, prevalence, and diagnostic method were also included when available.
