The animal venom gland are sources of proteins for biological research and for drug and diagnosis tools development of several diseases. We describe the de novo assembly and analysis of venom gland transcriptome of an widely distributed snake in Brazil (Bothrops neuwiedi). Based on 9.500.000 reads of quality filtered, we identified several full length toxin coding sequences. Our aim is contributing to a better understanding of the biodiversity of these proteins underlying molecular and evolutionary mechanisms, and contribute to discovery of new compounds with potential therapeutic action.
