These registers contain a summary record of land sales by auction in the Land District of Balranald, kept by the Balranald Crown Land Agent's Office, later the Balranald Lands Office.Crown Lands that could be sold at public auction included: conditionally purchased lands that had been deemed to have been abandoned; land that had no conditions for residence or improvement; land that had had no improvements done; and land put up for sale at auction that did not sell.The registers record information such as the date, name, cash book folio, deposits, balances and deed fee.These registers also contain additional records for Land Sales by Selection after Auction; Conditional Land Sales; Special Leases; Leases; Settlement Leases; Timber Licenses and Licenses to Quarry Stone; Miscellaneous Accounts of Land Agents; Contingent Receipts; Parchment Forms, Registration Forms and Stamp Duties; Homestead Selections; and Lithographs and Minerals other than Gold.
