RNA sequencing of Apis mellifera heads with antennae infected with Deformed Wing Virus

This project aims to characterize transcriptomic changes in the peripheral nervous system of the honey bee (Apis mellifera) associated with infection by Deformed Wing Virus (DWV A). RNA sequencing was performed on head samples including antennae from virus-inoculated and non inoculated bees at different time points post infection. The generated RNAseq data provide a resource to investigate gene expression patterns related to neural function, sensory processing, and host virus interactions in an ecologically and agriculturally important pollinator.
