Sociodemographic determinants of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis in Lesotho A case-control study.csv

This study set out to understand why some people in Lesotho develop multidrug-resistant tuberculosis while others are affected by pulmonary TB. I reviewed the backgrounds of 306 adults diagnosed with either MDR-TB or pulmonary TB, using data collected from 12 TB clinics between March 2021 and February 2022. The focus was on key sociodemographic factors such as age, sex, education level, employment status, income, place of residence, HIV status, and whether the person had a caregiver. The aim was to identify patterns that could help inform better-targeted public health responses and support for those most at risk.
