Flood in Italy (2026-01-06)

Heavy rainfall is affecting the Lazio region in Italy, especially in the northern part, with rivers rapidly reaching the highest alert levels. The region and the national civil protection department have issued a red alert for the areas affected by the heavy precipitation. On the 6th of January 2026, the Aniene River has reached its third threshold of alert, and some local flooding has occurred in the vicinity of the city of Tivoli. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping is requested to provide Flood extent and damage assessment emergency mapping.
