This study aims to investigate the physiological responses and interactive degradation mechanisms of a bacterial-algal system exposed to clarithromycin. To achieve this, a novel internal-illuminated airlift photobioreactor tailored to the requirements of the symbiotic system will first be designed. Subsequently, the effects of clarithromycin on the physiological metabolism and pollutant removal performance of the system will be assessed. The study will then explore the degradation behavior and pathways of clarithromycin within the system. Finally, transcriptomic analysis will be employed to elucidate the metabolic mechanisms underlying the interactive degradation of clarithromycin by the bacterial-algal consortium.
