Age ≥ 18

Mechanically ventilated in the ICU

General Exclusion

Transferred to ICU from outside facility

Chronic tracheostomy prior to admission

Known or suspected bronchopleural fistula

Diffuse chronic fibrotic lung disease

Pregnant women

Prisoners
