Elongation development of a fiber optic sensor (DFOS)

The tsv file contains measurement data from a fiber optic sensor that was used to measure the strain curve at the bottom of a bridge girder quasi-continuously during a load test.

Over time, the local stretching peaks in the area of the cracks increase. The crack widths can be calculated by integrating the strain curves.

With increasing load application, metrological anomalies occur as the technical limit of the interrogators (ODISi 6108) has been reached. The measurements were carried out with a robust fiber optic sensor with a monolithic cross-section to guarantee a safe strain transfer.
