Qipengyuania (Qi.peng.yu.an′i.a. N.L. fem. n. Qipengyuania named after Professor Qipeng Yuan, a Chinese biologist, who has achieved excellent accomplishments in biopharmaceuticals, natural product research and development, genetic engineering drugs, etc).Cells are Gram-reaction-negative, facultatively aerobic and chemoheterotrophic. Oxidase-negative and catalase-positive. The dominant respiratory quinone is Q10. As determined by 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, the genus is a member of the family Erythrobacteraceae, class Alphaproteobacteria. The type species is Qipengyuania sediminis. Q. sediminis strain M1T is a Gram-reaction-negative, non-motile, facultatively aerobic bacterium, which isolated from a subterrestrial sediment sample (collected in Sep 2013) of Qiangtang Basin in Qinghai-Tibetan plateau, China.
