Aegilops tauschii, the wild diploid progenitor of the D genome of bread wheat, constitutes a reservoir of genetic diversity for improving bread wheat grain quality, agronomic performance and resilience to biotic and abiotic stresses. To better understand and utilize this diversity, we sequenced ~300 Ae. tauschii accessions, compared them to the wheat D genome and used it for association mapping.
