Vibronic excitations in CeAuAl3 (p10684)

<b>Abstract:</b>Hybridized excitations that comprise of well-known and well-understood collective modes have received increasing interest as the possible origin of novel functionalities and unconventional materials properties. Recently, TOF spectroscopy on CeCuAl3 has provided putative evidence for a so-called vibronic mode – a combined crystal field - phonon excitation. We have found such excitation in single crystalline samples of CeAuAl3 during a short test experiment on PANDA (despite recent TOF study on polycrystals claiming the opposite).<br>We propose to determine the details of that excitation as well as its temperature dependence down to 3 K. <br><b>Place:</b>Heinz Meier-Leibnitz Zentrum, Garching, Germany (MLZ)<br><b>Instruments:</b><br>PUMA (https://mlz-garching.de/puma)<b>Date: </b><br>Wed, 06.
