The aim of the experiments is to investigate the existence of chemical reaction(s) between Fe-bearing bridgmanite and Fe-bearing carbonates at conditions of Earth’s low mantle (up to 135 GPa and 3000 K) using single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Synchrotron Mössbauer Source (SMS) spectroscopy inside the laser heated diamond anvil cells. The possible reaction between carbonates in oceanic crust and bridgmanite is crucial in the determination of the compositional conditions of the Earth’s deeper mantle. The results will allow us to understand better the deep carbon cycling and the effect of the reactions on the velocity and density anomalies in the lower mantle.
