RNA-seq approach was conducted on gonadal tissues of Mediterranean sea urchin (Paracentrotus lividus). Here, we generated the first de novo assembly transcriptome and annotation of the Mediterranean sea urchin gonadal tissues in the expectation that such transcriptomic resources will provide a better understanding of reproduction and lipid metabolism of sea urchins.
