A global gridded climatology data set (BOA_CLM) with horizontal resolution ranging from 1° to 1/10°

The dataset is a new global gridded climatological (long-term annual mean) temperature and salinity (<i>T &amp; S</i>) dataset, named BOA_CLM. This dataset has 80 vertical levels (from 5 dbar to 1950 dbar) and different horizontal resolutions, including 1°, 1/2°, 1/4°, 1/6°, 1/8° to 1/10°. It is generated from over 6.8 million historical <i>T &amp; S</i> profiles collected from 1900-2023.The gridded BOA_CLM can be accessed from figshare in the form of matlab. Such as, the 1° global gridded T &amp; S is BOA_CLIM_TEO10_stable_global_1_1.mat, and the 1/10° gridded data is BOA_CLIM_TEO10_stable_global_1_10.mat. The variables are：1.lons: longitudes for T and S2.lats: latitudes for T and S3.pres_std: depths (unit:dbar) for T and S4.Conservative_temperature: Conservative temperature (unit:°C)5.Absolute_salinity: Absolute salinity (unit: g/kg)<br>On the other hand, the corresponding geostrophic currents with each horizontal resolutions are also estimated via the thermal wind relation, and the reference depth is set to 1950 dbar. The 1° global gridded geostrophic currents is BOA_CLM_geostrophic_flows_global_1_1_dbar_nomotion.mat.
