Rosa laevigata is a common medicinal and edible plant, and its fruits are rich in vitamin C. The genomes of Rosa sterilis and Rosa roxburghii from the same genus Rosa have been published, and in order to resolve the origin and evolution of vitamin C biosynthesis, we performed a study of Rosa laevigata genome sequencing and assembly.
