miRNA expression profiles of garlic-derived exosomes

In this study, we investigated the miRNA profiling of garlic-derived exosomes and screened the miRNAs associated with the expression of 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2, 6-biphosphatase 3 (PFKFB3), one of the critical glycolytic enzymes, which shape the metabolic reprograming of macrophage induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and mitigate the inflammatory response in adipocytes. Ultracentrifugation combined with PEG precipitation was used to isolate exosomes from garlic purchased from a local market. After total RNAs were extracted from GDE, and the quality and concentration of the RNAs were checked using an Agilent 2200 UV spectrophotometer. And then, reverse-transcription-PCR amplification, small-RNA libraries were prepared and sequenced, with raw reads being collected using an Illumina Hiseq 2500 platform.
