Subreddit karma and account age requirements, 2025-2026

Share of 70,483 subreddits with a stated or measured minimum karma or account age for posting (April to September 2026), the stated minimums, and the share of posts and first posts from accounts created since December 20, 2024 removed, by account age (February 2025 to January 2026) and by comment karma (April to September 2026). Source: KissMyPost analysis of public Reddit posts. Limitations: shares of subreddits with a minimum likely undercount, since rules pages weren't scanned, but measured steps may include some false ones, which weren't measured, so they're not strict lower bounds; removed means removed by anyone unless stated; the results are descriptive, not causal; only accounts created since December 20, 2024 are covered; account age is known for 74.3% of their authors; bot messages were searched in English only; age groups also differ by calendar month; who removed a post is the label as it stood in the data; account age and karma use different months. This dataset accompanies the KissMyPost study Subreddit karma and account age requirements, checked on 70,483 subreddits. The method, charts and the full write-up are on that page.
