Biodiversity monitoring in the restored quarry La Chanta

La Chanta was a limestone quarry currently owned by Holcim Spain, located in Alcarria de Alcal?, in the municipality of Corpa. It is the result of Holcim's biodiversity strategy, a corporation that has opted for a new model of rehabilitation of mining spaces, demonstrating that it is possible to achieve a positive net balance in biodiversity after its restoration.

Following the execution of restoration activities in 2020, in March 2021 a stewardship agreement for five years and extendable in usufruct was signed between Holcim Spain and Brinzal.

Since then, Brinzal has been in charge of carrying out standardized and regularly maintained monitoring over time of an important variety of faunal and flora groups to objectively assess their evolution.
