This BioProject contains targeted amplicon sequencing data generated using Oxford Nanopore Technologies to (i) support the development and evaluation of haplotype-aware amplicon assembly approaches for highly heterozygous populations and (ii) characterize sequence and haplotype diversity in key flowering-time genes of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne). Genomic DNA from multiple ryegrass samples was subjected to PCR amplification of flowering-related genes, followed by multiplexed long-read sequencing on Oxford Nanopore platforms. The resulting data support analyses of gene-level sequence variation and haplotype diversity relevant to flowering time variation in perennial ryegrass populations.
