VPRS 14854 Central Council Minutes

This record series comprises the minutes of Central Council. The purpose of the meetings was for the Forest Commissioners and senior departmental officers to discuss issues.The first meeting of the Central Council was held on 10 July 1957. The meeting was officially opened by the Minister of Forests who called upon the Chairman of the Public Service Board to support him. It was agreed that as far as was practicable, monthly meetings would be held.Following the second meeting of Central Council held on 5 August 1957, the Secretary, Central Council, decided that meetings would be numbered consecutively. It was decided that a meeting at which all Chiefs of Divisions and Officers-in-Charge of Branches attended would be indicated by the letter F; and those meetings attended by Central Administration Officers only would be indicated by the Letter C. The number shown immediately after the alpha symbol would indicate the agenda item of the particular meeting. Commission decisions would be shown in red.
