Estimating diversity of Baltic Sea ice eukaryotes. Baltic Sea ice eukaryotes

We sampled three locations in the Gulf of Finland, Baltic Sea. At each station ice cores were collected and sectioned to five pieces. In addition, three slush and two under-ice samples were collected. The aim of the study was two-fold: firstly, to find the best way to estimate the eukaryotic diversity using different environmental amplicon read analyses; secondly, to describe the eukaryotic diversity in sea ice using environmental amplicon reads.
