Decapterus maruadsi is one of the main economic fish in China. D. maruadsi's was sequenced by genome-wide second generation sequencing, and the mitochondrial genome was assembled by NOVOPlasty 4.2. There are 37 genes (16,540 base pairs) in the mitogenome, including two rRNA genes, 13 protein-coding genes and 22 tRNA genes. In this study, we provide valuable data for the taxonomic and evolutionary analysis in D.maruadsi.
