18S metagenomic sequencing of DNA isolated from sediments from larval collection sites (oiled and non-oiled locations) and tabanid larval gut contents from coastal Louisiana, 2011-08-25 to 2011-09-28

DNA extracted from sediments and tabanid larval gut contents were subjected to 18SrRNA gene amplification and high-throughput Illumina sequencing. Sequences assembled into contigs of operational taxonomic units (greater than 97% match for homology in the environmental genome) has been submitted to GenBank. Raw Illumina Miseq sequence data for the 18SrRNA gene for all BioSamples have been deposited in the Sequence Read Archive (SRA) under BioProject PRJNA408157 and have been released with SRA study number SRP118538 titled “18S metabarcoding of greenhead horse fly food web: Larval gut contents and sediments.” in the NCBI database. Biosamples contain collection information including geospatial location and date.
