Whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing of Drosophila willistoni. Drosophila willistoni strain:TSC#14030-0811.24

The Drosophila willistoni genome was sequenced to 8-fold coverage by the J. Craig Venter Institute. The D. willistoni WGS project has the project accession AAQB00000000. This version of the project (01) has the accession number AAQB01000000, and consists of sequences AAQB01000001-AAQB01020809. Several D. willistoni genome assemblies have been generated by different groups using alternate assemblers and a list of these can be found here. These alternate assemblies were combined and reconciled into the official (CAF1) assembly (AAQB00000000). The assembly was annotated using several automated gene prediction programs, and the results were combined into a consensus GLEAN set (Drosophila 12 Genomes Consortium 2007).
