资源简介:
Prader-Willi syndrome is a rare genetic condition that impacts breathing and heart function, placing children at increased risk of cardiovascular problems. This PhD investigated the regulation of breathing and the heart during sleep in children with Prader-Willi syndrome, and whether growth hormone therapy influences these systems. This work examined the stability of breathing and heart rate control using sleep studies. The findings show that disturbances in breathing and autonomic control are most evident in early childhood and vary between individuals. This research improves understanding of why sleep problems occur in Prader-Willi syndrome and may help guide personalised treatment approaches.
