VPRS 14462 Hopetoun Electricity Supply Contracts and Specifications

Section 455, Part XVI of the "Local Government Act 1915" allowed municipal councils to enter into contracts for the purpose of executing works directed or authorised by the Act. The same piece of legislation stipulated the need for such contracts to be in writing. This series consists of the tenders, contracts and specifications including plans and drawings submitted for consideration of Council in connection with the electric light conversion at Hopetoun from direct to alternating current. Tenders received were in response to specifications issued by Mr L.G. Buckland, Consulting Engineer, on 13 July and 27 July 1949.
