Mass balance, stable isotopes and pollen data from 1997 to 2014 on Mt. Ortles (Eastern European Alps)

The *.csv files report the mass balance, stable isotopes and pollen datasets coming from a high-elevation glacier accumulation area on top of Mt. Ortles, in the Eastern Italian Alps. The data are used in the paper “Reconstruction of mass balance and firn stratigraphy during the 1996-2011 warm period at high-altitude on Mt. Ortles, Eastern Alps: a comparison of modelled and ice core results”. The mass balance observations cover the period between 2005 and 2014, and were used to calibrate a glacier mass balance model that builds a pseudo proxy of atmospheric conditions during the formation of snow layers survived to ablation. The stable isotopes and pollen data were retrieved from a firn core extracted In October 2011, and cover the period between 1997 and 2011.
