Replication data for Capturing Well Integrity Loss Through Measurements of Methane and Ethane Emissions from Surface Casing Vents and Soils Surrounding Oil and Gas Wells

This dataset consists of multiple sheets related to soil and well emissions measurements analyzed in a manuscript that will be submitted for publication. Below is an overview of each sheet:

1. SCV Flowmeter Measurements

Contains SCV (Surface Casing Vent) flow measurements for different wells.
Some values are "no data," indicating missing values.

2. SCV Screening Tests

Provides methane and ethane concentration averages (in ppm) for different wells.

3. Soil Near Well

Contains methane and ethane emissions measured in soil near wells.
Includes coordinates (easting/northing), distance from the well, P-values, and R² values indicating statistical significance.

4. Soil Control Measurements

Similar to the "Soil Near Well" sheet but for control locations farther from the well.
Provides emissions data for methane and ethane.

5. Soil Methane Rates Per Well

Summarizes total soil methane emissions per well.
Includes well mode (plugged, abandoned, active), fluid type (oil, gas), and whether the well is listed on an SCVF (Surface Casing Vent Flow) report.

6. Average Soil Emissions

Groups wells by status (plugged, abandoned, active) and fluid type.
Provides the average methane emission per category with confidence bounds.

7. Measurement vs Industry-Based Inventory

Compares measured emissions with industry-reported values.
Shows emissions per well type (plugged, abandoned, active) and the total inventory emissions in metric tons of CH₄ per year.
