The India Data Portal (IDP), developed by the Bharti Institute of Public Policy at the Indian School of Business, serves as a comprehensive, open-access platform offering free and reliable datasets from various government sources. It aims to democratize data access by eliminating paywalls, allowing users to freely utilize, interpret, and visualize data related to critical sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, and the economy. IDP promotes interoperability among datasets, enabling users to merge information using Local Government Directory (LGD) codes for enhanced insights. The portal encourages users to upload their own datasets and supports data literacy by providing a user-friendly interface and effective technology solutions.
