Melaleuca Wetlands - Promoting Ramsar Environmental and Cultural Values

This project will produce six interpretive signs to capture and communicate the Ramsar environmental and cultural values of the Melaleuca Wetlands on Coochiemudlo Island. A project officer will be engaged to collate publicly available cultural heritage information for the Melaleuca Wetlands from a variety of sources, such as local government, libraries, Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation, and the Coochiemudlo Island Historical Society. This information will include both Indigenous and European cultural values. The values of the Melaleuca Wetlands will be shared with local residents and visitors to the island while fostering stewardship and environmental awareness.
