Bacterial colonization often depends on the production of a polymeric extracellular matrix that mediates cell-cell and cell-surface contacts that are essential for biofilm formation. In E. coli and others Enterobacteriae, cellulose is the main components of the extracellular matrix. Here we report the genome draft of the cellulose producing strain of E. coli 1094.
