DENTAL ANXIETY AND ITS IMPACT ON DENTAL STATUS IN NEPALI ADULT PATIENTS

An observational, cross-sectional study was carried out among patients visiting the department of dental surgery. The study sample consists of 446 patients (205 male and 241 female) who had visited the dental department in the period spanning April 2022-October 2022. The purpose of the study was explained to the patients and written consent was obtained. Dental status was recorded as DMFT score by examining patient’s oral cavity. A semi-structured questionnaire of the Modified Dental Anxiety Scale (MDAS) in Nepali version with permission from the principle author was used as a data collection instrument.
