This project investigates gene expression in males and females of Varroa destructor, a parasitic mite of honeybees, that causes global colony collapses by transmitting deadly viruses. We sequenced individual mites' transcriptomes, mother and son of five families, a total of 10 varroa mites RNAseq. The mites were obtained from honey bee colonies (Apis mellifera) in November 2024, at Zhejiang University, China.
