This dataset comprises two parts of statistical records: first, the survey time, forest area, forest volume, forest coverage rate, serial number and other related entries from the statistical tables of successive national forest resource surveys included in the *2000 China Forestry Development Report*; second, the statistical data reflecting the development status of China's forestry industry in 1999, covering aspects such as forestry production, afforestation, forest products, forest pest and rodent control, key project investment and forest resource conditions. The specific contents include: import and export values of major forest products from 1993 to 1999; import and export quantities of major forest products from 1993 to 1999; afforestation area categorized by region, afforestation mode and forest type in 1999; total output value of the forestry industry by region in 1999; actual completed investment of key forestry projects by region in 1999; afforestation area completed by key forestry projects by region in 1999; and the status of forest pest, disease and rodent infestation prevention and control by region in 1999.
