资源简介:

This publication introduces Functional Disproof and the Reality Argument, closing a long‑standing gap in argumentation theory by naming reality as an autonomous mechanism of invalidation. While classical frameworks classify discursive strategies—facts, authority, examples, opinions—they do not codify the collapse of claims when confronted with lived conditions. Functional Disproof establishes this collapse as a distinct research category, and the Reality Argument translates it into a teachable, classroom‑ready routine. The framework integrates seamlessly with existing traditions, from Toulmin’s model and the New Rhetoric to pragma‑dialectics and Walton’s argumentation schemes, extending their explanatory power without disrupting their architecture. It strengthens theoretical rigor, enhances communicative accountability, and provides a sustainable, intuitive tool for education. By anchoring reasoning in observable performance, the framework ensures that arguments must not only survive critique but also reality, establishing a new paradigm that is internationally relevant, theoretically robust, and pedagogically accessible.
