Clinical and Epidemiological Characteristics Dataset of Patients with Suspected and Confirmed COVID-19 in Primary Care in Mexico

This dataset contains anonymized clinical and epidemiological information from patients with suspected and confirmed COVID-19 receiving care in a primary healthcare unit in Mexico. The dataset includes sociodemographic variables, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and general symptoms, comorbidities, occupation, suspected and confirmed case criteria, as well as diagnostic test results. Data were organized and cleaned for scientific reuse, epidemiological analyses, and research related to infectious diseases and public health. A bilingual variable dictionary (Spanish-English) is included to facilitate data interpretation and reuse. Data correspond to patients receiving medical care during 2020. All records were anonymized prior to integration and contain no direct patient identifiers. Data collection, management, and processing were conducted according to international ethical principles for health research, respecting participant confidentiality, privacy, and data protection standards, in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and applicable regulations for research involving anonymized secondary data.
