This study published by DASSI was previously archived at UniData - Bicocca Data Archive. The study Participants in the iC - InnovazioneCulturale 2013/2014, 2015 and 2016/2017 calls for proposals (2013-2017) collects information on the participants in the iC-innovazioneCulturale call for proposal, 2013/2014, 2015 and 2016/2017 editions. Fondazione Cariplo has been doing philanthropy for 25 years, with a passion for art, culture, scientific research, social and environmental issues. Today it focuses on supporting young people, community welfare and people's wellbeing, implementing projects together with non-profit organisations. Since 1991, the foundation has supported more than 30 thousand initiatives, putting more than EUR 2.5 billion into philanthropic activities, resources generated by the prudent investment of a heritage that has revalued in recent years, which has withstood the crisis, and is now worth more than EUR 8 billion. In recent years, Cariplo has been able to innovate the way of doing philanthropy, as in the case of social housing or cultural districts. Not just a patron, but the engine of ideas. The iC-InnovationCulture project aims to develop and disseminate innovative practices to rethink the way culture is done. These practices must be useful, sustainable and replicable. In order to achieve these objectives, a pathway was created to involve those who have good ideas for culture and are willing to take risks to realise them. The route is divided into three stages separated by selection moments: a call for ideas open to all a period of accompaniment for the development of the business project a non-repayable grant for the start-up of the enterprise From 2014 to date, three editions of the iC programme have been implemented, 963 proposals were collected and 54 ideas were selected for the accompaniment period. Grants in the first two editions totalled €2,400,000. The data dsitributed collects information on: the participating entity and any other associated entities; the project submitted, such as the cultural field addressed by the idea, the impact on the cultural offer system, target audience, etc. The information available for the first and subsequent calls may differ due to the different data collection system. For more information see the Methodological Note.
