Carbon isotope ratios from controlled feeding trial with sheep with variably supressed enteric methane
收藏资源简介:
Carbon isotope ratios of wool, plasma, rumen fluid, faeces and feed from a containment feeding trial with Merino sheep with four levels of methane inhibition.Lineage: A controlled feeding trial was conducted on sheep with variable levels of methane suppression. The trial involved a baseline period (no suppression) and an experimental period with four treatment groups with different levels of supplementation with the methane inhibitor 3-NOP (Bovaer®). Carbon isotope ratios of biomatter (i.e. wool, blood plasma, rumen fluid and faeces) and animal feed were measured with the aim of assessing the affect of enteric methane production on the carbon isotope ratios of animal-derived products. All carbon isotope data are reported in ‰ relative to VPDB.
