Whole Genome Sequencing of Bacterial Isolate from Sanitary Pad

This study investigated the presence of potential microbial pathogens in new or unused female sanitary pads obtained from commercially available products. Microbiological analyses were performed to isolate and identify microorganisms present on the pads, followed by molecular characterization and sequencing to accurately determine their identities. The aim was to assess whether contamination could occur during manufacturing, packaging, storage, or handling and to evaluate possible health risks associated with product use. The findings provide important information on the microbiological safety of sanitary pads and their potential role in skin or urogenital infections, thereby contributing to consumer safety awareness and the need for improved quality control standards in the production and distribution of feminine hygiene products.
