*Groups of mice were infected with 100 trypomastigotes of JG or CL Brener (single infection); or coinfected with 100 trypomastigotes of both T. cruzi populations in a 1∶1 proportion via intraperitoneal route, and haemoglobin level, hematocrit determination and red blood cell count were assessed at 7, 14 and 21 days p.i.
