Dickeya fangzhongdai strain:PA1 Genome sequencing and assembly

Dickeya dadantii subsp. dieffenbachiae strain PA1 is the causal bacterium of the most popular home-keeping flower Phalaenopsis orchid (Phalaenopsis spp. Blume (1825)) in Guangdong. The disease is initiating with the typical symptoms of water-soaked, pale-to-dark brown pinpoint spots on leaves. Since discovery, the morbidity and severity of this orchid disease has been increasing, and it becomes one of the most devastating disease in flower industry here. The purpose of this study is to sequence the whole genome to understand the epidemiology and comparative genomics of this pathogen with other Dickeya strains.
