The QC-J strain has broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against the pathogen Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri of citrus canker. The genome of QC-J consisted of a single chromosome of 3,893,015 bp in length, with a mean GC content of 46.4%. It contained 3,752 genes encoding proteins and 5 rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis based on average nucleotide identity and digital DNA-DNA hybridization and 1292 single-copy homologous proteins of 52 strains stored in the database indicated that QC-J is Bacillus velezensis. Further genome analysis will provide more details about strain QC-J antibacterial activities mechanisms and the use of this strain as a potential biocontrol agent.
