NRS-19918 | Bench books [Lawrence Court of Petty Sessions]

This series consist of two volumes containing minutes of proceedings of the Bench noting date and place of meeting, magistrates present, detail of party or parties, charge or cause and summary of evidence. The Benches held special annual sittings for granting licences and these are usually entered in the Bench books.Please note the last entry in the second Bench book is dated 20 October 1887. Following this entry the volume has been reused and contains a table giving the details of Dairymen in the district on pages 314-325. The table dates from 31 December 1898 to 1902.Custody HistoryThese volumes were archival estrays. They were previously in the custody of the Lawrence Historical Society, which generously donated them to State Records in 2011.
