This project details the development of a novel method for double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) extraction, employing the Flock House virus B2 protein as a binding agent. Our method demonstrates superior dsRNA purity compared to conventional techniques used across various laboratories, offering a cost-effective and straightforward alternative. As part of this project, we are depositing FASTQ files containing Illumina MiSeq short-read data for 11 distinct grapevine isolates cultivated in a greenhouse setting. These isolates may be infected with a range of plant viruses, providing a valuable resource for virology research in grapevine.
