THE SPECIFIC FEATURES OF USING SURNAMES, PATRONYMS, AND ABBREVIATED ANTHROPONYMS IN LITERARY TEXT

The article analyzes the specific features of surnames, patronyms, and abbreviated anthroponyms in literary texts from linguistic and stylistic perspectives. Along with their function as nominative units, the semantic-pragmatic and linguocultural potential of anthroponyms is revealed. The study highlights the role of surnames as social and cultural markers, the function of patronyms in expressing formality and hierarchy, and the capacity of abbreviated anthroponyms to convey expressiveness and intimacy. It is argued that the choice of personal names in literary discourse is not accidental but directed toward specific aesthetic and communicative purposes. The article demonstrates, through scholarly analysis, the importance of anthroponyms in character construction, representation of social environment, and expression of the author’s position. The research findings contribute to a deeper understanding of literary text semantics and to identifying the stylistic potential of onomastic units.
