Phonotraumatic Vocal Fold Lesions and Vocal Function Explored

This thesis explores change and stability in the lesion characteristics and vocal function of female speakers with phonotraumatic vocal fold lesions. The research demonstrates that vocal function can change across many dimensions in the presence of a phonotraumatic vocal fold lesion and highlights the need for clinicians to take a nuanced approach to management of these clients by exploring their individual functional and lesion responses to therapeutic probes to determine potential for change and improvement. .
