Replication Data for: Corporate Emissions and Climate Targets: Insights from High-Emitting Firms in Brazil’s Transition to Sustainability

The data was sourced from companies’ investor relations (IR) and their sustainability reports, including sectors of Energy, Oil & Gas, Food & Agriculture, Materials & Manufacturing (e.g. mining), Finance, Retail, and others. The reports also present valuable material to discuss the data reduction strategies. In a total population of >400 traded companies in Brazil, we excluded over 50% of companies that did not report any GHG emissions. The total traded companies’ emissions represented 74% of Brazilian total emissions – 1.7 GtCO2e of a total of 2.3 GtCO2e in 2022, according to the SEEG Project.
